Stephen Rothschild will present a new body of work of abstract oils on canvas. His work represents emotions and feelings of a place or a situation. Even though Stephen’s paintings are quite minimalist, there is a certain tension felt with all brush strokes, a lot of energy trying to break the clean lines of the squares which are a repetitive form in all his paintings.

Stephen Rothschild Studied at the Chelsea School of Art and graduated with an M.A. in Fine Art.

Stephen has had many solo shows, including the Guinness Gallery, Firestation Artists Studio, and the Lynne Strover Gallery (Cambridge). He also took part in group exhibitions in Ireland, at the RHA Annual Show, and in England at the London International Art Fair. He is included in different public collections such as the Office Public Works, Ireland; St Patricks Hospital, Dublin; Cesis Museum, Latvia. He is also in private collections in Ireland, USA, UK and France.

Since 2000 Stephen has spent his time between Ireland and France. He currently has a studio in Paris.

The Exhibition will run from 19th April until 12th of May 2007.
