Jean Duncan RUA trained at Edinburgh College, DA (Edin.) and Ulster Polytechnic, Art and Design Centre where she received an Advanced Diploma in Printmaking. She is currently co-director of Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor, Co. Down, Northern Ireland.

She has had numerous solo exhibitions, as well as having had her work exhibited in many group exhibitions all over Ireland as well as in England, Scotland, France, Spain and China. She exhibits in the Royal Ulster Academy regularly- she was elected RUA in 1994. As well as being the co-director of Seacourt, she is also its co-founder.

She is a founding member of each of the Octagon Gallery, Belfast, Northern Ireland, of CIRCA Art Magazine, Belfast and of the Artists' Collective of Northern Ireland.

Her work is held in many permanent collections, including those of Allied Irish Banks, Belfast City Council, and the Department of Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Dublin.
