Elaine Leader

Elaine Leader graduated from Dublin College of Marketing and Design in Fine Art Printmaking in 1995. While a student she travelled to Italy to work with Printmaker Franco Ferrevecchio in using experimental printmaking techniques.

Describing her work she says; "I have become engaged in a painterly and experimental way of working, exploring the different textural qualities and colours using photographic etching processes combined with carborundum, collographs, spit bite and drypoint. The main thematic concerns of my work are in using anatomical images and maps for reference. My interest is in layering and building dense and rich colours and textures in order to reveal underlying areas."
